I bless God for the strength to continue in Him.
We would be looking at the part B of What You Feed Your Spirit Matters and as we look into this topic we ask the holy spirit to minister to our hearts in Jesus name Amen.
The holy spirit is like a man riding a vehicle, and the vehicle represents our body. We know the popular road safety slogan, “Do not drink and drive” this is because the intake of alcohol could lead this driver to cause an accident on the road, in other words we the condition of a driver matters for a safe drive.
Our spirit is a spiritual man, that has feelings, and just like human beings feel hungry he does to, but for spiritual food which is the word of God. The more we feed our spirit with the word of God the more he reminds us of the word of God and that is why the bible says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17 KJV.
Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something, and the the bible goes ahead in Hebrews 11:6 that But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Therefore without Faith(complete trust in God) it is impossible to please God, we are created to please God, looking at the meaning of the word PLEASE it means to take only one’s own wishes into consideration in deciding how to act or proceed. So!!! We first if all have to know the word of God before we can live according to the way he wants us to, to please him but we cannot know the word of God except we feed our spirit with the word!
The spirit of God in us reminds us of the word we fed it in times of adversities. We can also liken our spirit with a computer system it gives to us what we put inside of it, and that is why we should be careful about what we put in it so we don’t end up with a virus in the system.
The more we feed our spirit with the word of God the more we grow stronger It is this spiritual growth that becomes a birthmark of our faith!
For everyone who lives on milk is [doctrinally inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant. But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil.
HEBREWS 5:13-14 AMP
I remember in children’s class my Sunday teacher told us that we eat physical food three times a day and gain weight, but we hardly feed our spirit, leaving it malnourished, it was funny then but as i grew it made more sense I started becoming more deliberate about feeding my spirit through the help of God.
Stop for a moment and ask yourself:
-What you feed your spirit?
-How often do you feed your spirit?
-How healthy is your spirit?
-How equipped and ready for war is your spirit?
Rate from 1-10, If its 5 downwards its fine it isn’t to late, pickup your bible and start to study the word, listen to sermons of men of God.
If its 6 upwards hey!
You have greater battles to fight there is never enough so pick up the word and continue to feed!
May the Lord speak to our hearts as we intentionally feed our spirit with the right things.
