accepting christ into your heart
Faith comes by hearing. The first step to accepting Christ is by hearing the gospel. What is the gospel of the Kingdom?
Jesus Christ came from the Father to lay down His life as a ransom for our sins, and acquire salvation for us, since we cannot by any means earn salvation ourselves. He died, and rose on the third day according to the Scriptures. He fully paid the price for our salvation, that price is His precious spotless blood. Hence, by accepting in our heart what He did for us through His sufferings, His crucifixion, His death and His resurrection, we receive eternal life. And that instantly. when we confess Him as Lord and Saviour. ‘If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.’ Romans 10:9 (NIV).
There must be a heart conviction of the need to be saved, and of Jesus being the only source of salvation. Everyone personally, from that conviction, invite Christ into their heart once in a life time. If you are are convinced of what Jesus did, you can accept Christ today into your heart.
Then, Pray:
Dear Father in heaven, thank you for the great sacrifice Jesus did for me. Out of this conviction, I personally invite Jesus into my heart to be henceforth, my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for saving me, in Jesus name. Amen.
If you prayed this out of the conviction of your heart, the Father knows it. Jesus is in your heart. You are a new creature in Christ, A child of God. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
